Most of my professional life I have worked in tourism, in areas such as tour operating, marketing, public relations, sales, consulting, market research, destination governance and establishment of market-oriented structures, public-private partnerships, product development, destination management, sustainable tourism and certifications, project management and international development cooperation.

Apart from professional activities in my home region Germany and neighbouring countries in Europe, especially German-speaking countries and some Western European source markets, I have done work in, and numerous ties with, regions and countries like Costa Rica, Peru, Latin America in general, the United States as well as South Eastern Europe, especially Serbia and the Danube region. My personal travels have also taken me to a number of Asian and African countries.

Related to tourism and areas such as market trends, positioning and branding, but not limited to it, I am also very interested in (consumer) psychology, perception, cognition and consumer behavior, neuroscience, neuromarketing and consciousness research.

Another area of interest and professional endeavor is sustainability and sustainable tourism in particular. I am an auditor in the area of sustainable tourism and periodically realize sustainability audits of tourism companies.
